Biological plant MBBR Adda Ondulati Paper Mill
The Cartiera Adda Ondulati, production plant of Civate - Italy, has assigned to Tecno Aqua the task of installing a biological MBBR plant for waste water treatment.
But what exactly is the MBBR Technology?
This technology is of Swedish origin and has been on the market for more than 15 years but only in recent years is developing. This is because it is one of the most competitive on the market, thanks to its high performance and economy and simplicity in its management.
The Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) system works with flora and has all the advantages over an active sludge, where volumes of very large tanks and recirculation of sludge are required.
In recent years, MBBR technology has been preferred to the traditional active sludge biomass system, as this process does not require any particular management controls. Process management is automated by means of a simple dissolved oxygen meter which, when exited from the oxygenation tank, indicates the amount of air needed by the blowers.
As with any flora-based technology (biodiesel, MBBR, percolating beds), they are free from bulking phenomena that, although they are occasionally released, are present in the various active sludge systems that cause major water and sludge problems and therefore anomalous series of all the process.
The advanteges:
- High depurative performance
- Great reduction of the tank volume (up to 4 times)
- Modular system
- Simplicity of management
- Absence of BULKING and odorous substances
- Energy saving
