BIOLOGICAL PURIFICATION

Aerobic biological purification processes are based on the metabolic action of microorganisms, mainly bacteria, which use the organic substances and oxygen dissolved in sewage for their degradation and reproduction.

TECNO AQUA realizes installations of MBBR type (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) thanks to years of experience.

MBBR PROCESS: SIMPLE AND FLEXIBLE

MBBR is an aerobic biofilm biological process in which the filling material (carrier), consisting of a rigid plastic material with a high specific surface area (up to 700-800 m2/m3), provides support for the development of microorganisms inside the tank.

Carriers are kept in continuous movement through a constant air flow; customized medium bubble stainless steel distribution manifolds are placed on the bottom of the tank and are fed by special electric blowers. This enhances the contact between biofilm and

substratum to be biodegraded (expressed in terms of BOD5 e COD).

The particular structure of carriers used by TECNO AQUA is characterized by a high specific surface for the biomass development, protecting biofilm from abrasion and rubbing
